Catta Full Frame Cine Lens Demo

Nearly one year of waiting by friends who love DZOFILM, our latest full-frame zoom lenses “Catta” have finally come out.

After the launch of Super35 zoom lenses "Pictor”, and full-frame prime lenses “Vespid”, we began to think about meeting the zoom needs of full-frame users, and thus brought out these full-frame zoom lenses-- Catta.

Catta Full Frame Zoom

Catta is a primate monkey with a swift body, keeps curiosity of environment. And the Catta lens is named of this. Light and compact, easy to carry to explore more possibilities on shooting.
With increasing cinematographers turning to full-frame format for various productions, Catta Zoom aims to meet current market's demands of acquiring high-quality images and satisfying larger format cameras, like the latest Red V-raptor 8k.

As DZOFILM's third zoom series, the Catta 35-80mm T/2.9 and 70-135mm T/2.9, cover most of the basic focal length in diverse shooting projects. The golden focal lengths of 35-80mm/70-135mm enable cinematographers to create cinematic images without sacrificing time in lens replacing.

Lighter, Stronger, Stay Focused

As light as ever, the 35mm-80mm T/2.9 weighs only 1.53kg, and the 70mm-135mm T/2.9 less than 1.6kg. Manage to decrease the weight, we choose to use polycarbonate and glassfiber on this shell with strict tolerance. Extremely portable for changing field of view frequently. These cinema zoom lenses would be a great choice for Live show, indie filmmaking, vehicles shooting, documentaries and gun shooting scenarios with precise parfocal design. And it is easily applicable with gimbal like Ronin s2 and Crane 3s etc. when shot on rapidly moving scenes.

Round Bokeh and Fine Details

With 16 blades of diaphragm and an aperture range of T2.9-T22, Catta produces round and smooth bokeh with natural transition of image. The extremely close focus distance helps users to shoot clear details and characteristics of the subject.

Authentic Color Reproduction

Embraced the design philosophy of natural, original and real, Catta Zoom lenses reproduce the real world on that small yet comprehensive sensor. To record the realistic scenes and make it easier to color mixing in post-production.

Better Breathing Control Than Ever

Same as it ever was minimal breathing in DZOFILM cine lenses, this time you can find a better performance in Catta. Invisible breathing during racking focus.
Focus along the journey, the edge of frame always keeps same, making audience immerse in the plot deeply.

Plug-in Filter--Unlock the Secret of Mirage

Loaded with 77mm detachable front filter design, Catta Zoom lenses are also equipped with plug-in rear filter, adding amusement to shooting experience, allowing users to change rear ND/ UV/ Streak/ Mist filter freely.
It’s up to you to use the original filter or any other filter you want.

Standard Mechanics and Aesthetic Design

The specifications and craftsmanship are completely based on the unified standards of cinema-grade lenses. The manual focus range of 270°, gives users a smooth operating experience. The mechanical and optical construction of these two lenses are identical, a perfect combination of wide angle and telephoto with zero difference for perfect articulation.

Applicable Various Camera

In terms of mount, both lenses are originated in E mount. But there are also additional mount to meet diversified needs, like RF/ L/ Z/ X mount. Equipped with a quick-released interchangeable mount, it is easy and speedy to change mount.

Price and Availability

These two lenses now accept pre-order on DZOFILM dealers, and  start to ship in the end of this month. The price is $3099/ each, and a $299 discount if purchasing a bundle. If you need other mounts, need extra $59 to get one more mount together with your purchase. And $99 to get two if purchasing a bundle.
The black metal version of PL/EF mount will follow up next year.
