I don’t usually start an article with the price but the new S35 DZOFILM Pictor Zoom 20-55mm is $2289 T2.8 & the 50-125mm T2.8 is $2489. This is an extremely competitive price for parfocal zoom lenses with a constant T2.8.

DZOFILM has a set of MFT zooms that are very popular. I haven’t tried them yet but the reviews I positive and the price is also incredibly affordable as both zooms are under $2000 each. The 20-70mm T2.9 MFT Parfocal Cine Lens is $1599 and the 10-24mm T2.9 MFT Parfocal Cine Lens $1799.
As I said these new zooms cover the Super 35/ APS-C format with a consistent T2.8 stop in all focal lengths. Both mechanics and optics are designed to be compact and versatile with a mere 1.6kg (3.5 lbs) weight. The Pictor zooms have a 270° focus rotation angle and standard M0.8 gear pitch.
PL Mount
EF Mount
The lenses will be shipped with a PL mount plus an extra EF bayonet in the package. Users are able to interchange to other mounts through bayonets or adapters.
Parfocal With Low Breathing
DZOFILM states the Pictor Zooms floating structure design yields very low breathing and can be negligible during focusing. The lenses are said to have an organic look with crisp details and achieve high-contrast and neutral color rendition. Round and soft Bokeh is created by the 16-blade T2.8 iris. The 20-55mm focuses down to 2′ and the 50-125mm close focusing down to 2’8″.

"In Latin, Pictor means painter and later easel. An easel is an essential tool supporting artists to achieve their vision. Just as easels to painters, DZOFILM hopes that Pictor Zoom will serve as more than an “easel” for cinematographers to convey their future stories." said by DZOFILM
DZOFILM designs and manufactures their lenses in house. The optics are not purchased from a third party.
It’s exciting to finally see a set of S35 zoom lenses that are parfocal hit the market. With all the hype on full-frame S35 format looks to be an excellent option still.
The retail price in the US is $2289 for 20-55mm and $2489 for 50-125mm, and is available now. Customers who purchase a bundle are eligible to get a $279 discount. The bundles are estimated to ship in late July. The white version will also sell in a set at the price of $5399 with an estimated ship date in August.
I should have a set in for review soon. I can’t wait to see how they perform. Right now Fujinon MK is the only affordable S35 zooms available. The new Pictor Zooms is $1000 cheaper each in price. It’s good to see more options available. With all the full-frame camera news is S35 still relevant? I think so big time!
