Accessories

  • Is the shim in common use among DZOFILM products?

The shims of Pictor, Vespid, and Catta Ace are the same and can be used universally. It contains two pieces of 0.02mm,  two pieces of 0.03mm, one piece of 0.05mm, one piece of 0.1mm and one piece of 0.3mm.
  • What is the size of the front lens cap of Vespid?

    The diameter is φ80mm/3.15".

Compatibility

  • What kind of matte box can be used with Vespid?

The outer diameter of the front end of Vespid is 80mm. If you want to use a clip-on adapter ring, it is recommended to use an adapter ring with an inner diameter of 80mm. If you want to use a screw-in adapter ring, it is recommended to use an adapter ring with a thread specification of M77.
But there is an exception. The front end of the 16mm lens is the extinction thread, not the mounting thread, so the screw-in mattebox adapter ring cannot be installed.
  • What kind of matte box can be used with Vespid 16mm?

The front end of the 16mm lens is the extinction thread, not the mounting thread, so the screw-in mattebox adapter ring cannot be installed.
Option 1.You can use an 80mm adapter ring to connect the lens with Titla‘s Mirage mattebox. But there will be vignetting in this method (it’s the design of the Mirage itself.)
Option 2.(recommended) You can use the Titla’s MB-T12 mattebox, and install the dual-rail adapter. There is no vignetting, but the filter cannot be applied in this way.

After Sales

  • The front end of the Vespid lens is loose and there is unusual noise.

It could be caused by the looseness of the retaining ring in front of the lens. You can try to press the retaining ring with your finger and turn it clockwise to tighten it.

Specifications

  • Why does the scale of the focus ring on Vepesid exceed infinity?

Considering that in actual use, the shooting equipment may be out of focus due to long-term use or external wear and tear. We have reserved some space in both end of the scales. This ensures that you can hit infinity without adjusting the back focus.
