Film Jams thinks for the price point the Pictor 14-30mm is a really great option. As a comparison, you can buy the entire three lens set of the Pictor Zoom or you can buy half of one Angeniuex Zoom lens.

EF & PL both mounts are actually included when you buy the lens and you can use or swap them which is a pretty nice touch.

Color: Special Note Pictor 14-30mm

One thing that DZOFILM has mentioned is that Pictor 14-30mm is not color matched to the other Pictor Zoom lenses. Film Jams is not sure why they did this and he acrually prefer the color on Pictor 14-30mm. As it is a bit warmer than the other Pictor Zoom. To mach the color to the other Pictor Zoom lenses 20-55mm and 50-125mm, you need to lower the color temperature in camera 800 degrees kelvin when using the Pictor 14-30mm lens.

Some Insights from Film Jams

Overall I really likes this Pictor 14-30mm wide-angle zoom lens. The lens was a lot of fun to shoot with. It’s sharp. I like the color of it. It’s lightweight and having this wider focal length, the Pictor Zoom lens range makes these lenses a lot more appealing to shoot a full narrative feature a long form project with. Because you have from 14mm now all the way up to 125mm if you have the three lenses.
